The launch of “Here, We Go”: The Campaign for the University of Houston was not just the culmination of a massive effort: it was the beginning of the first major fundraising initiative in more than 25 years. A VIP reception on January 18 and university wide, day-long celebration on January 19 marked the official beginning of an exciting journey. January 19 was dubbed “Community Day” to celebrate the launch of the $1 billion “Here, We Go” Campaign — but with so many UH alumni, faculty, staff and donors gathered together in support of their University, “Family Day” would also have been an appropriate name!
